BestRentNYC (“we,” “us,” “our”) is the
owner and operator of the BestRentNYC service (the “Service”), currently
provided via a website at https://bestrentnj.com (the “Site”).
We take the privacy and security of the personally-identifiable
information (“Personal Information”) of our users (“you,” “your” or “user”) very
seriously. This Privacy Statement outlines what Personal Information we may
collect about you and how we may use it.
We may change this Privacy Statement
from time to time. Therefore, we may ask you to check this Privacy Statement
occasionally to ensure that you are aware of the most recent version. If you
have registered with us and provide us with your email address, we may notify
you using the email address you provide of any changes where we are required to
do so.
What Information Do We Collect and How
Do We Use It?
If you register to use this Service, or
complete an online form (e.g. to obtain email updates or ask us to send you
further information), then we may collect Personal Information about you, such
as:
- Name
- Email address
- Current address
- Your interest in a new residence at a particular
location (your potential address)
- Any other personal information you include in our
online form
This information is used by us to
administer the Service, register you for the Service, and respond to any
queries or requests for information you may have.
Occasionally we may obtain sensitive Personal
Information about you, for example, if you voluntarily provide information
about your physical or mental health, as part of a request for information. By
providing us with your sensitive Personal Information, you consent to us
processing this data for the purposes set out in this Privacy Statement or any
collection notice provided to you.
In addition, we collect a broad variety
of Personal Information when we ask you to fill out an application to rent a
residence with us, any which may include your prior or alternative names, your
current address at the time of the application, employment information, credit
information, and other Personal Information about you. Currently, our rental applications
are in hard copy (and thus outside the scope of this Privacy Statement), but at
a future date we may make applications available online.
Cookies
We may also collect information about
how you use Service through the use of cookies, web beacons and other similar
technologies as part of improving the content and functionality of the Service.
Most websites download files to your device as browsing data for storage in a
particular folder, often called a cache.
Cookies are unique identifiers that we
transfer to your device as part of the browsing data to enable our systems to
recognize your device and to provide features and remember your personalization
choices. The personalization cookie files are meant to remain on your device
when other browsing data is deleted.
We use cookies to make it easier to
access and use our Service. The help feature on most browsers will tell you how
to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser
notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether.

Aggregate Information and Non-Personal

Any information that is not Personal
Information is “Non-Personal Information.” We use Non-Personal Information,
which does not identify individuals, to monitor customer traffic patterns to
the website and particular pages of the Service, as well as site usage, in
order to help us improve the design and layout of the content. We may aggregate
Non-Personal Information into larger data sets that show trends, but which do
not identify individuals.
Who Will Have Access to Your Personal
Information?
Your Personal Information may be made
available by us to our licensors and business partners (“Partners”). We
sometimes employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our
behalf, for example providing technical support for the systems where your Personal
Information is held. They may need access to your Personal Information in order
to perform their functions but will not use your Personal Information for any
other purpose.
We may also disclose Personal
Information in order to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, in
response to a non-mandatory request for information made by a governmental or
state body, or as part of an investigation of unlawful activity.
We may share your Personal Information
with our Partners and with our BestRentNJ affiliates (meaning entities
controlled by, controlling or under common control with BestRentNJ). However,
any Personal Information stored in one country or jurisdiction would not be
forwarded to another country or jurisdiction, except in compliance with
current, applicable laws and regulations.
United States and International Transfer
We currently provide the Service from
within the United States. We store all information, including Personal
Information, that we currently collect and retain on servers located inside the
United States. We may expand the Service to other countries in the future.
By registering with us or providing us
with information, you consent to our storing and processing your Personal
Information. If you are resident outside the United States or any country where
we currently process your data, then your Personal Information may be
transferred outside your country of origin, including to countries or
jurisdictions which do not provide the same level of data protection as your
home country. Regardless of which country your Personal Information is held in
it will be protected in line with our privacy and security policies, as
outlined below.
You should note that if our business (or
any part of it) is sold or transferred at any time, the information we hold,
including all Personal Information, may form part of the assets transferred,
although it will still only be used in accordance with the current version of this
Privacy Statement.
How We Protect Your Information
We have in place privacy and security
policies which are intended to ensure, as far as reasonably possible, the
security and integrity of all our information, including your Personal
Information.
Children
Our Service is not directed to persons
under age 18. If you are the parent or guardian of a person under 18, and you
become aware that your young person has provided us with Personal Information
or other information without your express consent, please contact us at Legal@Informationform.com. We will then remove the information,
and we will terminate the young person’s account.
Access and Correction
The Service is not currently designed to
allow each registered user to modify the user’s own data, but that may be
changed in future versions of the Service. In addition, if we process Personal
Information about you, then you may have a right under data privacy law to
request access to your Personal Information (for which we may charge a small
fee) and to correct any inaccuracies.

most or all of our electronic communications to you will allow you to opt-out
of subsequent electronic communications to you. You should clearly state on all
communications: your name, username (if any), registration details (if any) and
the part of the Service you have questions about.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident,
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to request information
regarding the disclosure of your Personal Information by us to third parties
for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. To make such a request,

the age of 18, and a subscriber of any site where this Privacy Statement is
posted, California Business and Professions Code Section 22581 permits you to
request and obtain removal of content or information you have publicly posted.
To make such a request, please send an email with a detailed description of the
specific content or information to Legal@informationform.com. Please be aware that such a request
does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or information
you have posted and that there may be circumstances in which the law does not
require or allow removal, even if requested.
